Abstract Study Design: Experimental design. Background: Individuals with sedentary lifestyle are associated with high prevalence of cardiovascular mortality. Forward Stair climbing and Backward Walking techniques are both associated with cardiopulmonary benefits. There is a lack of clinical research regarding effectiveness of forward stair climbing (FSC) and Backward Walking (BW) training programs for sedentary young males. Purpose of the study: To compare the effects of Forward Stair Climbing and Backward Locomotion on Cardiopulmonary parameters in Sedentary Young Males. Method: 30 sedentary young males were selected and randomly assigned to either of the groups with 15 subjects in each group. Group 1 – Forward stair climbing Group 2 –Backward walking Readings were taken on first day of the study, end of 4th week and 8th week. Results: Both the groups showed significant improvement in Forced expiratory Volume1 (FEV1), Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR), Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE) and Heart Rate (HR) at the end of 8th week, thus indicating that both Forward Stair Climbing and Backward Locomotion can be used for improvement of cardiopulmonary fitness by sedentary young males who are reluctant to engage in more vigorous form of exercises for maintaining a healthy life style.

Abstract Objective: Although it is well established that the ability to manage anxiety and aggression are the prerequisites of sporting excellence, researcher in the study has explored their relationship with speed, endurance, and strength. Therefore the objective of study is to determine the relationship of aggression and anxiety with speed, endurance, and strength among basketball players. Method: Twenty male athletes who have participated in inter university competitions were selected as subjects through purposive sampling. Psychological parameters anxiety and aggression were assessed through Sanjay Vohra’s anxiety questionnaire and Dr. (Mrs) G.P.Mathur& Dr. (Mrs) Raj Lumari Aggression Scale respectively. However, strength, speed and endurance were assessed by dynamometer, 50 m dash and Harvard step test respectively. To find out relationship simple linear correlation was used at 0.05 level of significance. Results: In total six correlations were calculated, the statistical findings of the study revealed almost similar trend of relationship in between psychological and motor abilities. The results revealed that anxiety was negatively related to endurance and strength but has positive relationship with speed. On the other hand there was positive relationship of aggression with strength, speed and endurance. Conclusion: After correlation ‘r’ value was found close to ‘0’ it means there is no relationship between the variable. But in case of correlation of aggression with strength, speed and endurance ‘r’ was found positive, that means if aggression gets larger the other variables that is strength speed and endurance gets larger whereas in the relationship of anxiety with strength, speed and endurance the ‘r’ value showed negative correlation of anxiety with strength and endurance which means that as anxiety gets larger the strength and endurance gets smaller, however anxiety had positive correlation with speed and this means as anxiety gets larger the speed also gets larger.

Apparently no research has been done to examine the kinematic analysis of forehand volley in Tennis. Thus the purpose of the study was to see the correlation of selected angular and linear kinematic variables and performance of forehand volley in Tennis. 5 students (boys) on the basis of purposive sampling technique of age 21 ± 2 years were selected as a subject from Tennis match practice group of LNIPE, Gwalior, those who had participated in inter-varsity tournament. Relationship between body composition and dimensions of VO2 max of non-obese college men

Abstract

Cardio respiratory fitness and body composition are associated with the risk of emergence of cardiovascular diseases but their interrelation to all cause and cardiovascular disease mortality is unknown. This study explored to the relationship between body composition and dimensions of VO2max of non-obese college men. 40 unrelated normal healthy and sedentary non-obese male students randomly selected from Chaudhary Charan Singh P.G. College, Heonra, Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, India. Total body weight was determined by anthropometric. VO2max was measured byusing Astrand-Astrand nomogram; fat mass and fat free mass were estimated by skin fold thickness. Pearson product moment correlation was used as a statistical test. Results reveal that there were significant correlation of VO2max to total body weight and lean body weight of non-obese subjects. Whereas, insignificant correlation was found between fat percentage and VO2max. It was concluded that the total body weight and lean body mass have a relation to VO2max; fat percentage have no any relation to the VO2max. Thus fatness and VO2max should be independent factors. This study provides helps to physical education teachers and coaches the similar study may be undertaken with selecting subjects of different age group and women subjects.
