We are... The Children’s Art Gallery of Greece, a pioneering educational and cultural organisation aiming at promoting and encouraging children's artistic creations on an international level. By organizing a variety of educational programmes, thematic competitions, painting exhibitions and artistic events, we release the expression of children through their innate language, art.
On the 25.02.2019 we have launched the Campaign for the Proclamation of the 'International Day of Children’s Art'. We are proposing an 'International Day of Children’s Art' to be officially recognised and observed by the United Nations on 2nd March.
The date of 2nd March has no recognised international day and we propose this date for the following reason: 2 March symbolizes the beginning of Spring, inextricably linked with childhood and creation, as it was celebrated by our ancient Greek ancestors on the first day of the “Anthestiria”.
We have pursued this journey, following correct protocols. The first step was to contact the General Assembly of the United Nations. We then, took the issue to the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Pavlopoulos and to the Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Tsipras, to whom we have officially submitted this request. We are also in the process of completing submissions to the Governments of all European countries.
Now, we seek your assistance to make a formal submission to your own Government can be presented to the United Nations.
We now propose this idea to all the friends and supporters of children’s art around the world to unanimously support the formal submission of our proposal. We are seeking 100.000 names for this proposal to be acknowledged internationally by governmental bodies and to be presented to the United Nations General Assembly using the correct protocols.
