The Red Maple

The red maple is a very cool tree. We have ten on the Inly School grounds. They are common in the United States.

  • The red maple grows between 40 to 60 feet tall.
  • The sap can be used to make a sweetener.
  • This tree grows faster than some other maple trees.
  • Young red maples have thin, smooth, grey bark.
  • The red maple is the state tree of Rhode Island.
  • The stem turns red, just like the leaf.ijkl.
