Jana Hardy
Founding Director  


Jana Hardy is from Spokane, Washington, and graduated from Stanford Law School in 2011. Her background is in public policy and human rights law. 
Jana met Katie while both were working for International Justice Mission in Mumbai, India, but their paths crossed again in Tanzania in 2010, where they swiftly came together as partners. Driven to tackle the plight of widows here in Tanzania and in the greater developing world, they founded Inherit Your Rights in January 2011.
 

Katie Windridge 
Founding Director & Chairman of the Board
  

Katie is a lawyer from England with a background in immigration law and human rights.  After spending a year working in Mumbai, India for International Justice Mission, she moved to Tanzania in June 2009. Katie pursued a career in law out of a desire to help the oppressed and victims of injustice, and hopes that Inherit Your Rights will be an effective vehicle for bringing justice to the widows of Tanzania and beyond. She currently lives in The Netherlands, but continues to 


Judi Owens
Director of Operations



Judi 
has 3 adult children and moved to Arusha 9 years ago with her husband David. She has lived and worked in various countries over her 
working life including Australia, Canada and Tanzania. She has worked for law firms in Vancouver Canada, a pharmaceutical research company as well as a short stint with the Australian Consulate. She enjoys organizing programs, people and companies/NGO's so that quality results can be achieved on time and progress tracked. She is "Action oriented" and her administrative skills mean that legal obligations, labor laws and 
contractual agreements are in place so that results can be delivered. Judi's commitment to integrity and honesty, in keeping with the 
organization's culture, steer the team to follow HR and Finance Policies set in place to make sure the organization operates smoothly, 
consistently, efficiently and honestly. She worked previously for another human rights NGO in Arusha for 4.5 years where she enjoyed the role 
of Operations Director. She joined Inherit Your Rights in Feb, 2016.



Baraka Joel 

Community Training Lawyer



Baraka is from Arusha, Tanzania and joined IYR in June 2016. He holds a Batchelor Degree of Law from Tumaini University, Makumira and has also completed his post graduate diploma at the  Law School of Tanzania. Baraka will be involved in both training women in our women's groups around Arusha and recording our radio shows. His passion to see people in all walks of life made aware of their human rights and experiencing justice. 


Winniefrida Manyanga

2016 Legal Fellow and 2017 Staff Lawyer 


Winniefrida is from Arusha, Tanzania, and joined IYR in February 2012. She holds a Bachelor Degree of Law from Tumaini University, Makumira, and has extensive experience volunteering with different human rights organizations and law firms. Winnie started working for IYR as our Volunteer Coordinator, preparing orientation materials for the newcomers, familiarizes herself with their respective strengths, and overseeing their work. Winnie quickly became a key member of the legal team, carrying out extensive legal research and assisting with trainings, preparing her to become IYR's second legal fellow in 2014.
