Len decided to call the company Crupron as a derivative of cupro-nickel, the material that pipes were mainly fabricated in 30 years ago and because the company initially concentrated in the copper nickel pipework market, primarily in installations where salt water was a major factor. With the development and manufacture of new materials such as duplex stainless steel, which is completely impervious to salt water, crupro-nickel work is now rarely required. Crupron has moved with the times, however, and for many years the company has operated in allied markets, undertaking an extensive range of installations and working with a broad range of materials.

The company operates from a low cost base, using tried and trusted contractors to staff jobs as and when required. This reduced overhead means that Crupron is able to pass these savings on to its clients, making us one of the most competitively priced contractors in the industry.

But just because we choose to use contractors doesn’t mean our standards aren’t as rigorous as other companies with a large permanent employee base. Crupron operates a quality assurance scheme in accordance with ISO 9001:2000. We also operate an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001:1996 and both of these systems are UKAS approved.

Crupron prides itself on an exemplary safety record, and to this end has in place a comprehensive management system for health and safety which is in accordance with OHSAS 18001:199.
