Dr. Lomayumtewa C. Ishii received his Ph.D. in History from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, Arizona. He has held numerous research and teaching positions at the University of Iowa, Eberhard-Karls University in Germany, the Institutum Studiorum Humanitatis in Slovenia, the Smithsonian Institution, Diné College, and is currently an Associate Professor of Applied Indigenous Studies and History at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. His research interests include indigenous research methodologies, indigenous historiography, Native American history, and pre/post/neo-colonial experiences of Native Americans. Dr. Ishii is a member of the Hopi tribe.
