Knots, Braid Groups and 3-Manifolds

This year Russia and India celebrate 70th anniversary of establishing of diplomatic relations. To make our contribution we organize two solidarity workshops: In Novosibirsk (Russia) and in Mohali (India). The Novosibirsk workshop “Knots, Braid Groups and 3-Manifolds” is scheduled on July 20, 2017. The Mohali workshop “Groups and Related Structures” is scheduled on December 7-8, 2017.


The Novosibirsk research group has a long story of collaboration with Indian colleagues in such modern directions of mathematics as knots, braid groups and 3-manifolds. Our joint research was supported by bilateral grants of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research entitled “Knots, Braids and Automorphism Groups” (grant number RFBR-13-01-92687) and by the Russian Scientific Foundation entitled “Modern Problems of Low-Dimensional Topology in Crossroad with Geometry and Algebra” (grant number RSF-16-41-02006).
