HONOR TROUPE

Indiana Thespians strive to excel both on stage and off. The Indiana Thespians would like to recognize those troupes who achieve a high level of excellence by sponsoring the Indiana Thespians Honor Troupe.  This achievement is meant for those troupes who do tremendous work in their school and community and should be recognized. There is no limit on the number of troupes who can apply or be recognized each year. The application process will include the following:

  • Creating a portfolio or "brag book" about the positive impact your troupe is making throughout the previous year.  An Honor Troupe year starts JULY 1 and ends JUNE 30.  For recognition in the 2019-2020 school year, the Honor Troupe year began on July 1, 2018!  All directions as part of the application process must be followed exactly with no duplications in multiple categories.  The creation of this document can be done by student leaders.

  • Register for the Leadership Retreat on August 9-10. As part of the conference, troupes will present their portfolios. Junior Thespian Troupes only have the option of presenting at the Leadership Retreat or at the Junior Thespian Conference on November 2.

  • Submit the Honor Troupe Application by email to Carol Gebert, Honor Troupe Coordinator.  Save the document as a PDF before sending.

  • At the Leadership Retreat, one or two student leaders will make a presentation not to exceed five minutes in length to the Honor Troupe adjudicators.

Awards will be presented at the Indiana Thespians State Conference in January.  A framed certificate will be given to each school who earns a bronze or silver ranking and a plaque will be ordered for those who attain a gold ranking.  In addition, each school will receive a letter addressed to their principal celebrating their achievement.

Beginning this year, we have a separate portfolio application for Junior Thespian Troupes! Junior Thespian troupes will present at the Leadership Retreat, just like the high school troupes.

Please see the attached documents for further information and how points are awarded.

Please note that the updated documents are forthcoming!

Questions should be directed to Carol Gebert, Honor Troupe Coordinator
