Indiana Thespians strive to excel both on stage and off. The Indiana Thespians would like to recognize those troupes who achieve a high level of excellence by sponsoring the Indiana Thespians Honor Troupe. This achievement is meant for those troupes who do tremendous work in their school and community and should be recognized. There is no limit on the number of troupes who can apply or be recognized each year. The application process will include the following:
Awards will be presented at the Indiana Thespians State Conference in January. A framed certificate will be given to each school who earns a bronze or silver ranking; however a plaque will be ordered for those who attain a gold ranking. In addition, each school will receive a letter addressed to their principal celebrating their achievement.
Creating a portfolio or "brag book" about the positive impact your troupe is making throughout the previous year. An Honor Troupe year starts October 1 and ends September 30. For recognition in the 2016-17 school year (when this program begins), the Honor Troupe year began on October 1, 2015! All directions as part of the application process must be followed exactly with no duplications in multiple categories. The creation of this document can be done by student leaders.
Register for the Regional conference at which you will present your portfolio. You do not need to compete with a show at regionals to attend and participate in the Honor Troupe process; however, you do need to register with at least the Troupe Director and the student representative who is presenting.
Submit the Honor Troupe Application by email to Ray Palasz. Save the document as a PDF before sending.
Present your portfolio at one of the Regional Conferences. At this time, one student leader will make a presentation not to exceed five minutes in length to the Honor Troupe adjudicators.
