"As poignant as it is fanciful, not many works hone in on the preciousness of love like Eurydice."

"You’ve never seen [the myth] through this particular lens before...part Greek tragedy, part dramatic improv with a touch of Fellini-inspired surrealism."

"Inspired… Director Lindsay Eagle gets Ruhl instinctively."

"A memorable theatrical journey. Lindsay Eagle's direction is smart and effective, blurring the lines of reality and the unknown."

"Another testament to just how wonderful the Independent Drama Society has become. The ensemble is remarkably strong: An entire chorus of the most interesting people you'll ever watch, and some of most beautifully executed clowns I've seen in years."

"A fun, circus-y event. The cast is exuberant, their versatile talent and boundless energy filled with joie de vivre, in this commedia dell’arte presentation."

"Formidable performances prove that a new generation of professional actors are on the rise."

Lose yourself to the depths of the underworld in Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-nominated author Sarah Ruhl’s tale of memory, loss, and love. Independent Drama Society's Artistic Director Lindsay Eagle (The Shape of Things, The Pronoun 'I') invokes a haunting and magical circus world for this modern adaptation of a Greek love story. Blurring the line between dream and reality, Eurydice has been hailed by the New York Times as “weird and wonderful” and “gripping and emotionally potent.”
