Youth Summer Camp

June 6th and 7th 2017 

8am - 4pm


Independence High School has a tradition of helping student athletes grow both on the mat and off.  Over the past 10 years the school has produced multiple state medalists and TSSAA State Champions!  This camp is designed to help the novice wrestlers, the experienced wrestlers and everything in between to become better wrestlers and athletes.   The camp will focus on technique that has been proven successful on the high school level at Independence.    

Dates/Times:  Tuesday June 6th (8 am to 4 pm), Wednesday June 7th (8am to 4pm)
Half Day available for from 8 to 11:30 or 12:30 to 4:00 pm each day. 

Camp Schedule:  Each morning will start with check in from 7:30 to 8 am.  Wrestlers will have 2 technique sessions in the morning with live wrestling mixed in.  Also during this time the camp will incorporate numerous wrestling type games to keep the emphasis on FUN.  Between the morning and afternoon session will be a 45 minute lunch break.  Wrestlers will need to bring a lunch each day of camp.  The afternoon sessions will be the same format as the morning.

Cost:  $50 for Full Days, $30 for half days.  Each camper preregistered by June 1st will receive a camp t-shirt.  Campers may register at the door.

Who can attend:

Any rising 9th graders and below.  We have had youth as young as 4 years old attend in the past.  NO WRESTLING EXPERIENCE NEEDED!!! This camp is a great introduction to the sport to youth that have never tried the sport. 

What to bring to camp each day:

  • Payment (first day only)

  • Wrestling shoes (if you have them, if not can wrestle in socks)

  • Wear gym shorts and t-shirt.

  • Lunch

  • Morning/Afternoon snack if needed for break time
