On Wednesday, March 10th, interns Jessica Shoemaker and Kelly Eggleston began cleaning the Immel Circus. Each volunteer will begin by cleaning a horsedrawn cart around the perimeter of the circus. To make the individual pieces look new again, they are using soft, round sable brushes and cotton-tipped applicators. The results in these few days have been incredible.
On Friday, March 12th, volunteers Kara Firestone, Deb Altimus and Bonnie Barton began cleaning their assigned sections. Among the things they notices were minor areas of paint loss and great deal of dust! But, the very satisfying end result of a day's cleaning is a container full of dirty cotton swabs.
This project is off to a great start!
Here are some photographs of Jessica Shoemaker, Kelly Eggleston, Deb Altimus, Kara Firestone, and Cristina Savu cleaning circus wagons. We've made some exciting progress!
