iMAUG 2012 Presidential Election

posted Nov 17, 2011, 7:08 AM by iMAUG President

Congratulations to the iMAUG 2012 President Elect, Jason Sheldon from the City of Naperville.

Thanks also to Eric Creighton, from the City of St Charles, for running in the election.

Below are the candidate bios:

Jason Sheldon, GISP, GIS Coordinator - City of Naperville, IL

I have been the GIS Coordinator at the City of Naperville since 2007.  Prior to that time, I was a GIS Programmer/Analyst at the Sidwell Company in St. Charles, IL for 10 years.

I have a B.S in Geography from Elmhurst College, and a B.A. in Finance from North Central College.  I complete my Masters course work at NIU (thesis pending... ok, it's been pending for almost 15 years now, but who's counting?).

Eric Creighton, GISP, GIS Analyst – City of St. Charles, IL

I have been working in a municipal GIS setting for nearly 12 years.  After graduating from Illinois State University with a BS in Applied Geography, I began working with a consulting firm on the Cook County Parcel conversion project, both in a production and QA/QC capacity.  I worked as a GIS Specialist with MGP, Inc., developing and maintaining several communities GIS from their infancy.  For the last 7 years, I have worked for the City of St. Charles, where I have been tasked with everything from infrastructure collection, database design and query, spatial analysis, and application development.  I obtained my GISP Certification in the fall of 2008 and served on the ILGISA Conference Planning Committee for the last two fall conferences.  I have been an active member of IMAUG since 2004, participating in both forum discussions and presenting my own work experiences.

ESRI has a forum to submit ideas, as well as vote on other people's ideas to improve their software.  It's sort of a way to find the squeaky wheel for them.  Users can submit ideas or vote to promote someone elses.
