"It all started when I first attended Dr. Kim Church's Advanced Managerial Accounting Course as a student at UMKC. We humbly got introduced to the IMA organization through a class project, which then later inspired our group to start a new IMA Student Chapter at UMKC! It was challenging but we made it happen!

Becoming the first UMKC IMA Chapter President and Co-founder was such a wonderful honor. Not only did being an active member give me access to networking opportunities, CPE events, and exposure to different areas in accounting, it also allowed me to bring these experiences to the students as well! Once I graduated with my Master of Science in Accounting in 2017, I was able to score my first staff accounting job through the IMA connections I have established, as well as transition to be a Board member for the IMA KC Professional Chapter! In the two years since, it has been a great honor for me to step up to become the President of the IMA KC Chapter! I enjoy bringing students and professionals from various industries together who share similar aspirations. I am proud to be in the IMA family and it has been a great step forward in my accounting career and education. I would highly recommend students to get involved in IMA and use its supportive opportunities to propel their career paths."
