Insha-allah every our momin brother & sister once in their life time visit all our Holy Place (AMEEN) Specially When you go to Umrah or Hajj Inshallah, this is the place where the miracle of the splitting of the moon happened.

This is the description of the place in www.al-islam.org

Quote:

abal Abu Qubays. The building facing Masjid al-Haram that you see here is the palace of the King of Saudi Arabia. Before, this was the Mount of Abu Qubays. After building the Ka'aba, Nabi Ibrahim [a] stood on this mountain and called mankind to come and worship Allah. When the Holy Prophet [s] first started preaching Islam publicly, he stood on Jabal Abu Qubays and called mankind to submit to Allah. The Prophet's [s] miracle of splitting the moon was also see at the top of this mountain. At the top was a small mosque - Masjid Bilal - and until recently people used to climb to the top for ziyarat. As this was a security threat after the palace was built, the govt. demolished the mosque. Notice also that the gate of Masjid al-Haram facing the palace has only one minaret (instead of 2) because it was blocking the King's view of the Ka'aba from his bedroom.

Sheikh Jawad Chirri in his book "Shi'ites Under Attack" makes reference to the miracle of the moon splitting as well as the miracle of the tree:

Quote:

In regard to the Prophet Muhammad, we read God's word in the chapter of The Moon:

"The hour (of judgement) is near, and the moon has been split. But if they see a sign, they turn away and say: This is prolonged magic." (ch. 54, vs. 1-2)

This verse informs us that Allah split the moon in response to His Messenger Muhammad's prayer, and this never happened before the time of Muhammad.

A Tree Walked In Response To The Order Of Muhammad

We find in Nahj al-Balaghah that Imam Ali reported that he was with the Prophet when the chieftains of Quraysh challenged him and asked him to order a nearby tree to uproot and walk to him. They said that this would be visible evidence of his prophethood. The Messenger of God spoke to the tree saying:

"Tree, if you believe in Allah and the Hereafter and know that I am a Messenger of God, uproot and walk until you stand in front of me, with permission of God."

The tree, obeying the Prophet, uprooted and walked to him while making a loud noise like the wings of a flying bird.

When the chiefs saw the tree standing in front of the Prophet, they asked him to make half the tree come forward and keep the other half in its original place. When he did that, they said: "Let the half that came to you go back to the other half. He did." (Nahj al-Balaghah, part 2, pp.158-9)

These miracles which occurred in response to prayers of the Messenger of God testify, as documented in the Qur'an, that Allah empowers His great servants to perform miracles by His permission. In other words, He responds to the prayers of His Messengers by creating miracles.

NASA Photos Prove Splitting of the Moon, Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) Miracle

--The opening verses of the Sura Al-Qamar in the holy Quran talk about the miracle of Shaq-ul-Qamar (the splitting of the moon in two), and new photographs of the moon taken by NASA prove the miracle, said a prominent Islamic scholar.

Speaking at a conference held by the cultural deputy of the Islamic Azad University, Ayatollah Dr Abdulkareem Biazar Shirazi read out the first verse of the Sura Al-Qamar: “The hour drew nigh and the moon did rend asunder” (54:1) and said “This verse is about a miracle performed by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) upon the request of the people of Makkah.

The infidel from the Quraish clan wanted to see a miracle from Mohammad (PBUH) to prove his prophecy. As they did not want to be shown an act of magic rather than a real miracle, they asked that the holy Prophet (PBUH) split the moon in two (They believed magic would not work in the sky).

They said to the Prophet (PBUH), “If you are telling the truth, then split the moon for us into two parts, one half over Mt. Abu Qubays, the other over Mt. Quayquan. The Prophet (PBUH) asked them, “If I did so, would you believe?” “Yes, we would,” they replied. It was a night of full moon, and so the Prophet (PBUH) asked God to grant him what they requested. That evening the moon did have one half removed and placed over Mt. Abu Abu Qubays, the other being above Mt. Quayquan.

Ayatollah Biazar Shirazi said that there have been some who interpret the first verse of Sura Al-Qamar as referring to future, but it is miracle that actually happened at the time of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

“If you ask a Jew or a Christian what the miracle of their Prophet is, they can not show you the Rod of Moses or those whom Jesus brought back from the dead. But the proof that the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) performed a miracle is out there. Scientists at NASA have determined that, along with spiral and circular splits, there is a straight split going through the middle of the moon. They believe the split is the result of a meteor impact on the moon, whereas the shape of the split clearly shows that the moon has once been divided in two parts and then the two parts have come together again.

The conference titled “Splitting of the Moon, Miracle of Prophet Mohammad, Based of NASA’s Studies” was held Thursday at the 15th International Quran Exhibition in Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla (Prayer hall).
