Ahtisaari Day

posted Nov 7, 2011, 8:23 AM by Nadina C. Nicolici   [ updated Nov 16, 2011, 8:34 AM ]

On November, 16, our school joined the international team who celebrated Ahtisaari Day, 2011.  It's the first Ahtisaari Day for School, organized by Environment Online - ENO.

The aim of this activity is to increase knowledge how to avoid and solve conflicts at schools and in the community as well as on the international level. It is essential to take responsibility and work together to avoid quarrels and to find a solution that all the counterparts agree. We need to work for peace in our daily lives. Education is an essential tool for achieving sustainability and peace.

During the day, we promoted reconciliation and peace. Our activities were: watching the message provided by Martti Ahtissari, reading the official message from ENO, and planting the Reconciliation Tree.
