Making a Google Classic Website
This site compiles instructional materials associated with creating websites, primarily through Google Sites - the links on the left are mostly to short, 2 or 3 minute videos. There are many ways to make almost-free, quite accessible websites. These materials support the work of Dr. Eileen O'Connor (click for resume) in her graduate courses, for Interactive Learning Solutions (ILS), for the SER/VE (the STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) Exploratory Real/Virtual Environment), and for other organizations for which she has developed materials. These educational activities and materials are developed and created by Dr. Eileen O'Connor. These materials are made freely-available and are licensed under the Creative Commons.
NOTE: the links to the left are not a course, they are tutorials supporting courses - however, moving from top to bottom of the links provides a somewhat systematic way to learn about creating websites with Google Sites.
EXAMPLE WEBSITES: The Google Site overview handout also outlines the organizational framework for Google Sites. Here is a:
- template website for a science project; this entire site will be "copied" for science students;
- an example project that uses a Google Sites for a core SERVE (STEM Exploratory Real/Virtual Environment) Healthcare middle school application;
- a Wix website serving a more-visually oriented intro to the SERVE Healthcare study. You can often use multiple web and e-based means to present your work.
