The International Lunar Research Park Exploratory Workshop was held Tuesday 5 April 2011 at the NASA Ames Conference Center.

Towards the end of the meeting, after giving the keynote address on the potential value to society of the International Lunar Research Park and leading a discussion group on the importance of education as part of the ILRP portfolio, Nobel Laureate Dr. Baruch Blumberg, a
man whose work saved literally millions of lives, died of a heart attack
in the meeting room. His death at 85 years old was almost instant and
he died doing what he loved best, encouraging the development of new
opportunities for discoveries that improve the human condition.
