Popcorn Season

posted Sep 22, 2017, 11:50 AM by Anjanette Wold   [ updated Sep 22, 2017, 12:31 PM ]

It's that time of year!  Popcorn dates have been added to the pack calendar!

NEIC has also announced a cool prize for the scouts this year:

Calling All Scouts!

Did you know that you can be one of the first people to see the new Star Wars movie THE LAST JEDI movie that opens in December?

That’s right! You can see THE LAST JEDI on opening weekend by selling $700 in popcorn between NOW and the end of October.

BUT WAIT..... THERE’S MORE!
In addition to other incentives, any scout that sells $300 or more ONLINE, receives 5% back in an Amazon gift card. Sign up here

If your Troop or Pack sells popcorn, contact your Popcorn Kernel for information on your sale or use this form.

If your Troop or Pack does not sell popcorn, you can still see the movie. Use this form to take orders. Orders are due by October 31st. Contact your District Kernel to get your name added as a selling scout. You will be eligible for movie tickets and all the other council incentives for selling popcorn.

Hope you to see you at the premiere!

Meet the New Cub Master John Amrein

posted Feb 23, 2017, 8:35 AM by Anjanette Wold

We asked John Amrein, our new Cub Master of Pack 672, to tell us a little about himself and his experience with scouting!

"I am super excited to be join Pack 672!  I am a proud Eagle Scout and can't wait to help the boys of 672, including my own son, grow through scouting.  I was in scouting myself from second grade through high school.  Some of my happiest times were in scouting.

My wife Sarah and I have two 4 year olds Grace and Thomas.  Thomas will be a Lion this fall and Grace is just as excited to be coming along.  I have been an elementary school teacher for the last 15 years working with students in grades 4 and 5.

This is going to be FUN!!!"

Blue and Gold Celebration 2017

It was a great celebration as we bid a fond farewell to our bridging scouts.  Despite the Super Bowl, we had a well attended lunch and ceremony.  Thank you to all of the people who put together the ceremony and lunch, to all the parents and family who helped out and who attended and to our outgoing Cub Master David McCall.  We appreciate his leadership!

Weigh-In:  Friday, January 27th from 6 to 8pm (WPC Gym)
Please note that all cars must be registered by 8:00 pm on 1/27/16 to qualify for the race:

*If your scout is unable to attend, they can still submit a car for race day prior to the registration deadline!
  1. Once cars have been registered, weighed, and certified, they will remain in the hands of the race committee until the end of the competition. After final approval, cars will not be re-inspected unless the car is damaged in handling or in a race.
  2. NO "Liquid "GRAPHITE WILL BE ALLOWED!! Scouts will lubricate the cars prior to registration. (ONLY DRY POWDER GRAPHITE IS ALLOWED)
  3. Because of possible damage to the cars and track, there will be no running, pushing, yelling, etc. in the building. Violators will be disqualified.
  4. Scouts and all other spectators must remain behind the tape. Seats will be set up to allow spectators to see the race.
  5. The starter will make sure the cars are on the track properly and then will start the race.
  6. Results will be recorded at the finish line.
  7. If a car leaves the track, runs out of its lane, interferes with another car, loses an axle, etc., the heat will be rerun. If the same car gets into trouble on the second run, the contestant is disqualified and automatically loses that race. If, on the second run, another car is interfered with, the heat will be run a third time, but without the disqualified car.
  8. Each car will race 4 times on 4 different lanes with the computer randomly selecting the racers.  The computer will average the times of the 4 races to give you final race time.  Your time will then be compared to the other times in your den and a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophy will be awarded in each den.
***Cars constructed for previous Pinewood Derbies are not eligible to compete.
