The light of Seto

This work is to create “the light field” which is paved the field with the acrylic resin pellet at the point of a peaked cape where can see the full view of islands, the sea and the sunlight of Setouchi. The true nature of beauty of Setouchi are the glittered sea by the dazzling sunshine and the pure natural landscape by islands and these ambiance co-exist with people living in Setouchi since ancient age. Meanwhile these beautiful circumstance is just as common landscape which is used to see for the people in there. In this work, I covered the field with pellets like the particles which is condensed the sunlight of Seto and then created the place for playing with the light and seeing the brilliant landscape of Seto standing in the light. Taking in to the light field and playing with the light particles is well, lying on there and seeing the sky and the sea is also good. The people will feel the light of Seto in each feeling and melting with it. This is the proposal of to experience the beauty of Setouchi delightfully for the tourist, to recognize the beautiful true nature of Setouchi which is forgot in daily life for the people living in here.

瀬戸の光

この作品は，瀬戸の海と陽光，島々を一望する岬の突端に透明アクリルペレットの粒を敷きつめた「光の野」を作るものである．燦々とした陽光が照らし出す海のきらめきと島々が織りなす風光が瀬戸内の美しさの本質であり，太古から瀬戸の人々の暮らしと共にあった．しかし，そこに住む人々にとっては，この素晴らしい環境は日常の見慣れた風景であって，当たり前の存在になってはいないだろうか．この作品では，瀬戸の陽光を凝縮した粒子のようなペレットを敷きつめ，瀬戸の光とたわむれたり，光の中にたたずんで瀬戸の風光を眺められる特等席のような場所を作る．光の野に入って光の粒で遊ぶのもよし，寝そべって空や海を眺めるのもよし．人々は思い思いに瀬戸の光を感じ，光に溶けていくことだろう．外からの来訪者にとっては瀬戸内の美しさの本質を楽しく体感することができ，地元の人々にとっては，普段忘れがちになっている瀬戸内本来の素晴らしい環境を再認識できる空間の提案．
