Probability measures the chance that an uncertain event will occur. We use ratios to describe how likely or unlikely an outcome will be. For example, the ratio 3/6 = ½ represents the probability of rolling an even number on one of the six-sided dice. The probability that the sum of the dice is even is 18/36 = 1/2 as well.
