AI yet to gain momentum in MBA?
As per the survey, Artificial intelligence is defined as the ability to leverage AI technologies and platforms for data analysis, predictions and process automation. The said skill-set is currently considered important by only 26% of global employers for GME graduates.
While AI remains an optional skill for MBA graduated, this outlook is set to change dramatically, with many employers predicting a significant rise in the importance of AI skills over the next five years.
Interest in AI skills varies widely by region and industry. Employers in Central and South Asia show the highest current interest at 49 per cent, with similarly high interest levels in Africa.
This is stark contrast to the West where only 13 per cent of employers in US currently see AI skills as crucial. The technology sector and Fortune 100 companies are particularly likely to value AI skills, with 36% and 34% of respondents respectively indicating its importance.
“As disruptive technologies like generative AI reshape the labour market, employers are prioritising strategic thinking, people leadership, and problem-solving, while also recognising the rising importance of tech prowess. Future business leaders must harness technological advancements and manage the changes they bring," said GMAC CEO Joy Jones.
Book Summary
The book "THE INDUSTRIES OF THE FUTURE- By Alec Ross" answers the question: 'What's next?' The Internet had a world-changing impact on businesses and the global community over the twenty years from 1994 to 2014. In the next ten years, change will happen even faster.
As Hillary Clinton's Senior Advisor for Innovation, Alec Ross travelled nearly a million miles to forty-one countries, the equivalent of two round-trips to the moon. From refugee camps in the Congo and Syrian war zones, to visiting the world's most powerful people in business and government, Ross's travels amounted to a four-year masterclass in the changing nature of innovation.
In The Industries of the Future, Ross distils his observations on the forces that are changing the world. He highlights the best opportunities for progress and explains how countries thrive or sputter. Ross examines the specific fields that will most shape our economic future over the next ten years, including robotics, artificial intelligence, the commercialization of genomics, cybercrime and the impact of digital technology.
Blending storytelling and economic analysis, he answers questions on how we will need to adapt. Ross gives readers a vivid and informed perspective on how sweeping global trends are affecting the ways we live, now and tomorrow.
Importance of the Day
“A big salute to all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.”
Happy Independence Day !
Jai Hind!!”
What happens on Independence Day?
Every year, the Prime Minister of India hoists the national flag at Delhi’s Red Fort and makes an address to the nation, which is followed by a military parade. The President of India also delivers the ‘address to the nation’ speech. In honour of the occasion, twenty-one gun shots are fired.
This day is observed as a national holiday across India. Independence Day is observed with flag-hoisting ceremonies, parades and cultural events in all Indian states and Union Territories.
Preparations for the Independence Day start a month in advance. Schools and colleges organize cultural events, competitions, debates, speeches, and quiz competitions.
Background of the Independence Day
India's struggle for independence started in 1857 with the Sepoy Mutiny in Meerut and it gained momentum after the First World War. In 20th century, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, the Indian National Congress (INC) and other political organizations launched a countrywide independence movement and revolt against the oppressive British rule.
During the Second World War in 1942, the Indian Congress launched the Quit India Movement demanding an end to the British rule which prompted colonial rulers detaining many campaigners, nationalists, and ministers including Gandhi.
During the partition of India in 1947, violent riots, mass casualties, and displacement of nearly 15 million people took place amid religious violence.
How to Celebrate?
Independence Day is celebrated through festivities across India. Notably, the prime minister visits the Red Fort monument for a flag-raising ceremony and delivers a televised address that is broadcast nationwide. Other traditional events include flying kites and wearing the tricolor.
Safety Advisory
Driving during the monsoon season can be challenging due to heavy rains and slippery roads. Here are some essential precautions to ensure your safety.
Driving a car during the monsoon season in India requires extra caution to ensure safety. Reduced visibility and slippery road conditions can make driving quite difficult. Here are some precautionary tips for you if you have to drive your car during wet conditions as well.
Inspect and replace old or damaged wiper blades of the car to ensure clear visibility during heavy rains
Ensure effective brakes by maintaining them in good condition, as wet conditions can affect the braking performance of the car. Avoid sudden braking.
Avoid over speeding and drive at a reduced speed to maintain better control of your vehicle and allow more time to react to road conditions and other vehicles.
Maintain a good car battery as the increased use of lights, wipers, and air conditioning can strain the battery and cause a breakdown.
Avoid driving during heavy downpour if possible. Heavy downpour can reduce visibility and increase the risk of accidents.
Moral Story
A Very Special Bank Account
Imagine you had a bank account that deposited $86,400 each morning. The account carries over no balance from day to day, allows you to keep no cash balance, and every evening cancels whatever part of the amount you had failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every dollar each day!
We all have such a bank. Its name is Time. Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever time you have failed to use wisely. It carries over no balance from day to day. It allows no overdraft so you can’t borrow against yourself or use more time than you have. Each day, the account starts fresh. Each night, it destroys an unused time. If you fail to use the day’s deposits, it’s your loss and you can’t appeal to get it back.
There is never any borrowing time. You can’t take a loan out on your time or against someone else’s. The time you have is the time you have and that is that.
MORAL:
Time management is very crucial and needs careful thinking, just as with money you decide how and on what to spend your money. It is never the case of us not having enough time to do things, but the case of whether we want to do them and where they fall in our List of priorities.
