Kyle Tatro - Varsity Coach
In his first season as Issaquah's Head Coach, Kyle Tatro continued on the great success he helped build. Coach Kyle -- who has coached at IHS in some capacity since 2008 -- led the Eagles to their first ever KingCo Championship and their third trip to the state tournament, finishing the season with an incredible 12-2-1 record.
Kyle was named the 2014 Star Times Coach of the Year by The Seattle Times as the top boys soccer coach in the area.
Prior to joining the Issaquah staff, Coach Kyle was a standout player in the area. Following a formidable high school career at KingCo nemesis Newport High School, Coach Kyle played collegiately at Edmonds Community College and Northwest University. He also played locally for Wolves FC. In 2003, Coach Kyle helped lead Newport to a #1 national high school ranking and a Washington state title.
Kyle lives in Redmond with his wife Heather.
Marc Kirkpatrick - Varsity Assistant Coach
Randall Birkwood - Junior Varsity Coach
Randall Birkwood is in his third year with the program. Randall has played and coached soccer for over 30 years, and has a successful track record of coaching club and high school soccer.
Since moving to Issaquah 15 years ago, he has been a coach, summer college program trainer, and academy trainer at Eastside FC; and previously coached the Boys Issaquah Soccer Club 94 team to a Washington State Challenge Cup win.
Randall's coaching philosophy is to be successful at the game, but to also focus on playing with strong technique and sporting behavior. He has a wife and two sons, and Issaquah High School 2013 graduate, and a current senior.
Coach Brian is in his second year with the program. Brian has been involved with soccer, either playing or coaching, for 35 years. Brian grew up in Bellingham playing for his High School team and was Captain his senior year.
He has been very involved with his kids’ teams coaching recreational and Club Select teams since 2009. Brian has also been very involved with the Sounders FC, too. He leads a supporters group and is in his second term on the SSFC Alliance Council, including a position on the Executive Committee.
Brian’s style embodies an approach that is rooted in teamwork, leadership, and technical skills. He wants success on the field but behavior and accountability are equally important. He can’t wait to begin his second season.
Brian resides in Issaquah with his Issaquah-born wife, Suzi, and their kids Hannah (13) and Zach (9). He is very proud that they will be 4th generation IHS students in the next few years.
