Comptia Regional Academy @ UiTM

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering UiTM became the first CompTIA Authorized Academy Partner for public university in Malaysia in May 2015. As a CompTIA Academy Partner, the faculty will receive incentives and resources to support the acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary for important industry IT credentials. The CompTIA Academy Partner Program provides generous exam voucher discounts, access to learning content for instructors and students, and robust administrator tools and resources to support the academy and prepare students for IT-related job roles.
On 13 August 2015, the faculty received the visit of two CompTIA executives, Mr John McGlinchey, Senior Vice President, Global Business Development LLC of CompTIA Certifications, USA and Mr Graham Hunter, Vice President, Europe and Middle East of CompTIA UK Ltd accompanied by Ms Jean Tang, Country Manager of CompTIA Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. During the visit they were briefed on the background of UiTM as well as the faculty and they shared some experiences of CompTIA's certification program implementations throughout the world. They also took a look at the laboratory designated for the CompTIA Academy Partner program at the end of the visit.
The first activity of our CompTIA Academy Partner program was the instructor training for CompTIA Cloud+ and CompTIA Mobility+ certifications. The training was held from 17 to 21 August 2015 at the CCNA Laboratory, Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The trainer provided by CompTIA was Dr Desmond Alexander, CEO of Foresec Academy who has more than 20 years experience in information security.
