Waiting Room

Waiting Room

I was in a waiting room
Full of cobwebs, with no broom
Holding on to ancient wounds
Waiting for my groom

I was in a waiting room
Dark as night and full of gloom
I sat and stood and lay awake
Churning hope into doom

I was in a waiting room
Birthing fear, from my womb
Not recalling the sacrifice
Of He who conquered the tomb

I was in a waiting room
Dreading what I thought would loom
But when I let it go
Forgiveness bred freedom and in it did zoom

My waiting room got busy
There was work to be done
My waiting room became a working room
And I was having fun

My cup ran over with joy
And peace filled my soul
My smile got so bright
What a sight, I became to behold

I wait no more, I work instead
My God, my Father, my Lord, my Savior
What a difference a day makes
When you're at the head

My waiting room became a working room
I'm working on me, you see
No idle time is wasted on
A dream that's meant to be

Delight yourself in the Lord
The desires of your heart await
Forgive and be forgiven
Your destiny is at stake!
