2008 - Ten. Coronel PILAV João Pereira (FAP Força Aérea Portuguesa)

2009, December 11 at Cascais Airfield along with the centenial celebration dinner of Aero Club de Portugal it was delivered the 2008 IFFR Safety Award to Air Force F16 Pilot João Pereira. 

The Safety Award was atributed due to the actions of Ten. Col. João Pereira that while in  fllight of his F16 near BA5 Monte Real lost engine power and started uncontrolled  free falling, however he only ejected after taking his aircraft away from the village near the air base.
