Welcome to the Independent Freight Forwarders & Customs Brokers Association of Savannah!

The IFFCBA of Savannah traces its roots back to the 1960’s. In our 50+ years’ of organization, we have always maintained an active membership. Our Association holds regular monthly meetings at The Pirate’s House, an historic restaurant and tavern dating back to 1734, located in the heart of downtown Savannah. (Legend has it that over-served patrons sometimes awoke on the high seas, shanghaied into service; and that Captain Flint and Billy Bones, featured in Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, breathed their last in the famed Pirate’s House).

Our membership includes freight forwarders and customs brokers, as well as numerous service providers such as truckers, warehouse operators, Georgia Ports Authority representatives and surety agents. As part of the fastest growing port in the nation, we actively work with the steamship lines, CBP and our port authority. Our association helps drive the pace of positive growth in our region. We conduct quarterly meetings between all stakeholders to discuss vital issues such as VACIS exams, port congestion, expansion of operations and new services calling our area. Our continuous dialogue allows us the access needed to ensure cargo moves through the fastest growing port in the nation as swiftly as possible. As an entire industry, we exemplify the concept of: “One River. One Port.”

The IFFCBA of Savannah provides educational seminars for our members and the trade community, sometimes jointly sponsored with respected international businesses or agencies. Together with CBP, the GPA, and local businesses we continually add value to the trade equation.
