A consortium of humanitarian agencies operational in Yemen (ADRA, CARE, Islamic Relief, OXFAM and Save the Children) have come together to assist IDP populations, returnees and host communities in the affected and accessible governorates in Yemen. A first phase supported by the the Royal Netherlands Embassy and DFID concluded in March 2011. A continued phase II is funded DFID totalling 5,468,988 USD started in June 2011.

The goal of the Integrated Emergency Response Programme (IERP) is to utilize an integrated and consolidated consortium approach to contribute to the YHRP by:

  • providing life-saving, time-critical and early recovery assistance targeting 210,040 persons (Target excludes indirect beneficiaries) affected by the complex humanitarian crisis in the five northern governorates of Yemen (Al-Jawf, Amran, Hajjah, Sana’a and Sa’ada), and
  • contributing to the enhancement of local capacities for preparedness and resiliency.

The programme is funded by the British Government Department for International Development (DFID).

The assessment is carried out by CARE International Yemen in collaboration with the Norwegian Refugee Council/the Assessment Capacities Project (ACAPS).
