ICT stands for Information and Communications Technology. In the old days it was called IT (Information Technology).
The name change shows how the Internet, email and online activities, (communications) have changed the face of learning with computers in schools.
At Woodlane all pupils are given a personal user name and password which allows them to log on to the school network all around the school.
Every classroom has access to the school network where pupils can use subject specific programs to enhance their access to learning.
Students follow a programme of study and learn how to access up-to-date and relevant ICT.This is adapted, where necessary, so that their individual needs and abilities can be identified, and every child can aim to achieve their full potential.
All students are given the opportunity to develop awareness of ‘e-safety’ so that they understand how to be safe and responsible, when using interactive resources or socialising online.
