About the Workshop

The primary objective of this workshop is to bring together faculty members of the engineering and technological institutes, scientists and engineers, industry personnel and Ph.D. research scholars with interest and knowledge of Biomaterials and Nanobiotechnology. This workshop will cover a wide range of interdisciplinary and current research topics related to biomaterials and biotechnology.

Important advances have been made in the field of biomaterials over the past few years, and most of these have been associated with rendering materials biologically active. It is as logical to develop biomaterials that are bioactive as it is to develop drugs that are bioactive. These biomaterials have numerous applications in catalysis, tissue engineering, medicine and biotechnology. The importance of this field has been well documented by both industrial and academic communities worldwide. This workshop will include sessions on various issues ranging from development of biomaterials and their end application in nanobiotechnology.

This workshop will also provide opportunities for young researchers and faculty members to actively engage in research discussions, information about current funding opportunities, new research interests, biosafety issues, research ethics and professional development.
