Established in 1995, the Ice Skating Association of Ireland (ISAI) is the governing body for ice skating in Ireland. A nonprofit organisation, the ISAI aims to provide opportunities for individuals and teams to participate in ice skating at recreational and competition levels. The ISAI focuses on these main goals:
The ISAI is a member of the Federation of Irish Sport (FIS), the International Skating Union (ISU) and the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI).
The ISAI, incorporated in 2007, is managed by an elected Board of Directors, each Director is responsible and assisted by a committee of volunteers for specific areas. The roles and responsibilities of each committee support the objectives of the ISAI and endeavour to coordinate everyone’s effort to ensure the sustainability of figure skating in Ireland. Each committee has the duty of formulating rules for the matters within its objectives and ensuring rules are current and meet the needs of Irish skating. Any rule changes, amendments or recommendations are submitted to the Board of Directors for action, and no changes, amendments or recommendations are effective until approved and published by the Board of Directors.
