Based on the Monterrey concept of comprehensive development finance, the private flows, especially trade and investments, play a key role in development. New kinds of partnerships are needed, where poverty eradication and sustainable development in its economic, social and environmental aspects are fully considered.
The aim of this event is to bring together a wide range of stakeholders, with different backgrounds, to discuss the state of play of the partnerships today and to work together to innovate opportunities on mutually beneficial cooperation that may be co-created among stakeholders. The program for the 1,5-day event will be interactive and participatory.
The outcome of the event will be provided for the consideration of the ICESDF. In addition the outcome will be provided for information to the discussion on the role of partnerships in the implementation of the Post-2015 development agenda, organized by the President of the General Assembly in New York on 9-10 April 2014.
