The ICDE 2016 Ph.D. Symposium is a forum where PhD students have an opportunity of presenting their research ideas, receiving feedback from and interacting with senior members of the community. The focus of the Symposium is on mentorship and providing constructive feedback to the students. The Symposium fosters a collaborative environment, encouraging constructive discussions and sharing of ideas. We expect a number of the members of the Program Committee to attend the symposium. This will provide opportunities for discussions and feedback.
The Symposium will be co-located with IEEE ICDE 2016 and held along with the ICDE 2016 workshops.
Accepted papers will be published by IEEE, as an ICDE workshop, and will be indexed by DBLP and IEEE Xplore.
We encourage submissions from students who have not yet received their Ph.D. degrees. A submission from students who are in early stages of their studies should clearly state the problem to be addressed and an outline of the methodology that the student plans to follow. A submission from students who are farther away in their studies should state the contributions made so far and the work lying ahead.
Only active Ph.D. students are eligible to submit their contributions to ICDE 2016 PhD Symposium. Authors should not have received their Ph.D. degree nor submitted their thesis before the Symposium.
Submissions must be single-authored by the student and should specify in addition to the student's name (i) the expected graduation date and (ii) the name of the supervisor. The name of the supervisor should be marked ("supervised by...") on the paper, under the author's name. The submission should be primarily written by the student and must be presented by the student.
Authors should prepare their submissions in PDF format typeset in IEEE format, as specified by ICDE, and are limited to five (5) pages of content including references and a short bio of the student.

The papers should be submitted via the EasyChair submission website.
