Recient Prayer Letter

Thursday, October 2nd, 2012

Dear Pastor and praying Friends:

Family Matters:

The family is doing okay this month. We are passing around a head sickness of sorts at the moment. We are back into the full swing of school and music lessons. Joy is having her first birthday tomorrow.

Ministry Matters:

Carmen continues to come, and (Praise the Lord!!) has asked Christie to do a Bible study with her. Please continue to pray. Her health is not very good, and she is still unsaved.

The Good News Baptist Church continues to play a part each week the new church plant in Carrick-on-Shannon. The Hendricks are doing a great job. Please keep them in prayer, as Satan would love to attack them with discouragement and doubt during this time of beginnings. When stepping out into a new area, sometimes you can feel very lonely and isolated, even though you are fellowshipping with others on a weekly basis.

As a church, we have determined to rent a new part of the building we are in. It is the store-front down on the street level with a sharing doorway up the stairs to our existing building. Four years ago, we needed

some classroom space. I asked the person in control of the building at the time if we could rent it for €600.00 a month. He laughed at me and said he was putting it on the market for €1,000.00 a month and that we would never be able to rent a storefront building like that for less than €800.00 per month. I said “If God wants us to have it, He will give it to us when He is ready, and at the price He determines.” Four weeks ago, we were closing up after a Wednesday evening service, and the owners of the building approached me and said, “We are going to fix this place up and put it back onto the market at €600.00 a month, but if you want it…we will rent it to you for €400.00 a month. You get first choice.” God knows what is best, and when it is needed!!

We will be using this area as a classroom on Sundays and possibly Wednesdays. During the week, it will be used as a church welcome/information center, with books, videos, and Bibles for those who walk by and have questions. We will have a tea area for those stopping by, and someone there to answer questions and share the gospel. All of the people in the church were very enthusiastic about the idea. Please pray that they will give by faith (as they said they would) to make sure it is paid for. This is well within the financial reach of the church if all who voted will also tithe. We are very excited about this opportunity that the Lord has given us. The picture is of the building. We designed the church sign and superimposed it on the picture.

Thank you so much for continuing to keep us before our heavenly Father in prayer. We praise the Lord for His goodness and grace!! Pray that we would be yielded, usable vessels for God to reach these people for His Kingdom and His Glory. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Ephesians 6:18-20
