2018 Symposium on Intelligent Asset Management

for Smart Cities

Smart city is a development vision to integrate the latest information technology in a secure fashion to manage the city's assets. Organizations are developing an integrated set of best practices to implement their asset management frameworks to improve productivity, reliability and better customer services.

Intelligent Asset management is the innovative and systematic approach in ensuring that an organisation's asset would be effectively managed and deployed.  This involves the balancing of costs, opportunities and risks against the desired performance of a specific class of assets.  The advancement in Artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytic, information and communication technology (ICT) and the Internet of things (IoT) facilitates intelligent asset management to a new level of sophistication limited only by our imaginations.

Hong Kong’s well established legal and financial infrastructure made her unique in the formulation and execution of strategic policies on a national level, which includes:

as test bed for innovative monetary and financial services;

as centre for the development and dispute resolution on intellectual property;

and as an international hub for the development of human capital to meet the challenges and opportunities that accompanies a true smart cities to be, …

The objective of the Symposium is to provide a platform for organisations to showcase their asset management frameworks with respect to infrastructure, intellectual, financial and human capital management etc., which are essential for the development of smart cities.

The Symposium will be conducted in English unless otherwise specified.
