The IASC Guidance Forum is a central location to explore more than 100 IASC products that have been produced over the years with the aim of improving the work of the international humanitarian system. These products, intended for all interested in humanitarian action, include everything from advocacy statements to guidelines and handbooks. While these products have always been available, we recognize that reading through every document in the guidance forum to find the products of most use to the individual or organization is a daunting task.

Therefore, in an effort to assist the international humanitarian community in utilizing these products, the Guidance Forum makes it easier for viewers to navigate through the materials that have been produced—all documents have been categorized by issue or cross-cutting theme.  Additionally, the Forum now includes a short summary for each product.  Within each summary you will find the link to the product in question and the available languages for each document. Please take a look, and see which products may enhance your work. We hope you find this tool useful. If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact iasccorrespondence@un.org.
The Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) is a unique inter-agency forum for coordination, policy development and decision-making involving the key UN and non-UN humanitarian partners. The IASC was established in 1992 in response to United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the strengthening of humanitarian assistance. General Assembly Resolution affirmed its role as the primary mechanism for inter-agency coordination of humanitarian assistance.

The IASC develops humanitarian policies, agrees on clear division of responsibility for the various aspects fo humanitarian assistance, identifies and addresses gaps in response, and advocates for effective application of humanitarian principles.
