No meals are included in the registration price. The only meal that is officially offered as part of the conference is the catered dinner on site for Saturday Evening (Feb 16)  6 PM - 8 PM. The cost will be $28 per person if paid for in advance, or $32 if paid for the day of the event.

Lodging, Meal and Transit Information

Lodging: Note that the registration fee does NOT include any lodging, travel expenses or meals. Lodging arrangements must be made individually by each participant.

We offer several suggestions: The Claremont Club & Spa is approximately 1 mile from the conference center, and historically has been the most popular choice for those attending events at this location. It is accessible by taxi and public transportation, but it is not within walking distance. The Durant Hotel is slightly less expensive, and is within walking distance of the conference center. (Durant Hotel is at: 2600 Durant Avenue, Berkeley, 94704 ; ph 510-845-8981)

Other alternatives are the Berkeley City Club. The cheapest rooms near the university are to be Hotel Capri, at University and Sacramento Ave.

Various lower cost lodgings are available throughout Oakland are nearby cities, but are not recommended to those without considerable travel experience in third world countries.

Public Transit: Public City Buses are available at a cost of $2.25 each way.

There is a Subway system that serves the City of Berkeley and the University area, but the nearest stop is approximately an 18 minute walk from the Conference Site. If you are coming from San Francisco or elsewhere in the Bay Area, the Down Town Berkeley Bart Station is the one to get off at. A cab ride to the Kerr Conference Center will cost approximately $7. Many of the Taxi Drivers speak English.

   Airports:

The Kerr Conference Center is accessible from either the Oakland Airport or the San Francisco (SFO) Airport.

The Oakland airport is the closest, but sometimes less expensive flights can be had from SFO
