About The class

  • You dive like you train
  • Why should we follow an Essentials class? To become a self-sufficient diver is the most difficult part for a diver.  Scuba diver training goes faster and faster, so time is needed to digest the training. We must train physically, mentally and in-water to become an autonomous diver: somebody who can take care of himself and his buddies while respecting the environment.  We all need "Essentials Training at different levels in our diver life. Quality training, education, feedbacks are some of the keys!   "The day I stop learning something in diving, I will stop diving": John Orlowski.

In Marseille, south of France, was done at the Callanque of Sormiou, one of the first test dives with the ancestor of the regulator we know today, engineered by Jacques Cousteau and Emile Gagnan. At this same callanque Captain Falco (former capt'ain of the Calypso) used to swim when he was a kid.   Around 1948 Aqua Lung exported regulators in the US, probably here in Florida in the keys, but also where the caves were, let's go back to "The source of diving".   Cave diving pioneers like Tom Mount, Dave Desautles, Hal Watts, formed the Aqua ...

  • The essentials for young divers Young divers can pick-up the process really quick we know that already. It is surprising how they can adapt to new ideas such as visualization, breathing techniques, concentration... This is probably because they have not yet developed "resistance" to new ideas and behavior.Try it and you will be surprised on how natural it is for them to act, react, and enjoy! Note: To start an Essentials class you:Must be at least 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 12 years of age for Junior Diver qualification, or 18 years of age without guardian approval.
