Radiant Panel-Joist Heating

This method of radiant heat is commonly used in both new and retrofit applications where poured underlayment and Aluminum applications are impractical. This system is lest beneficial in providing performance and efficiency.  Joist radiant heating with the addition of aluminum plates helps support this installation method by supplying the same amount of heat at lower supply temperatures versus a joist heating radiant panel. Joist heating applications are not recommended for open web truss construction. With joist, heating the joist plenum must have sufficient back insulation R-value to prevent excessive downward heat loss. This installation method is slightly more economical to install but does not offer nearly the performance or efficiency a concrete, gypsum underlayment, or an aluminum radiant panel system can offer.
