Finned-Tube Convector Baseboard heaters have previously been the most common hydronic hot water heat emitter used in residential and light commercial application in North America since the 1950's. It is a flexible, modular and quickly installed alternative to cast iron radiators. Baseboard Convectors are an economical choice over other heat emitter options. There are many styles of baseboard heat emitters available for both residential and commercial applications. The main disadvantage's to Finned-Tube Baseboard heating is the wall space it takes up and the high supply water temperatures it requires.
