Sprawling lawns with colourful flora and youthful trees towards the lower side of the dam make the place picturesque. They can also buy snacks and drinks from the only cafeteria at the place. The Andhra Pradesh Tourism pro-vides a guesthouse called "Sagar Mahal" which was the summer re-sort of the erstwhile Nizam. It has about ten double rooms. People also visit Gandipet after the rainy season when the reservoir is full. During this period swimming and boating are a common sight.
