Mission: Since 1928, Minneapolis based Courage Center, a nonprofit rehabilitation and resource center, has had a legacy of improving independence and quality of life for people with disabilities. Our full continuum of care includes rehabilitation therapies, transitional rehabilitation, pain management, vocational and community-based services, and camping and sports and recreation programs for people of all ages and abilities. Courage Center is a United Way agency. We also meet all standards with the Charities Review Council and are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Our Golden Valley and Stillwater sites provide services for all ages. (Our locations in Burnsville and Forest Lake specialize in serving the needs of children and adolescents). Therapy is provided for persons with complex conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury, or chronic conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia or back pain. We are skilled at working with individuals whose recovery may be complicated by unrelated health concerns. Our independent living services, home and community services, vocational services and camps take Courage Center outside of its walls and into the daily lives of people where they work, learn, live and play. Helping You Reach Your Full Potential Our rehabilitation therapists and staff are experienced in working with people of all ages and abilities. We specialize in customizing programs to address the needs and concerns of persons with a variety of diagnoses or conditions, such as: • Orthopedic conditions • Stroke • Spinal cord injury • Feeding and swallowing • Traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury • Congenital disabilities (e.g., Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy) • Chronic and autoimmune diseases (e.g., Arthritis, Fibromyalgia) • Neurological injury and/or diseases (e.g., Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons, ALS) • Weakness, deconditioning and/or obesity • Speech/language delay • Deaf and hard of hearing • Sensory disorders • Chronic pain Our therapists are highly trained, friendly professionals who know the key to success is to connect with you.
