||The Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative is a
collaboration between three partner agencies: Riverside Plaza Tenants’
Association (RPTA), Brian Coyle Community Center, and Minneapolis
Public Schools Adult Basic Education Program.
Since the year 2000, these three agencies have pooled resources and
worked jointly to provide education opportunities to adult immigrants
and refugees living in and around the Cedar Riverside neighborhood.
To teach adults the skills and provide the support necessary to pursue
personal education and employment goals
• ELL Classes
At Cedar Riverside Adult Education Collaborative we have 6 different
levels of ELL classes ranging from Pre-literate to High Intermediate.
• Class schedule:
Mornings, M - F, 9am - 12noon
Afternoons M - Th, 12:30pm - 3pm
Evenings, M - Th, 6pm - 9pm
Classrooms are located in the Brian Coyle Community Center; the "M"
Building and "C" Building Community Rooms; and in the Riverside Plaza
Resident Resource Center where students also have access to a computer
As part of the regular class time students come to the computer lab for
at least one hour every week. Additionally, students may use the
computer lab at other times of the day for independent study.

Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 5:00pm
There are additional three computers are available for the residents
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 8:30pm
• Tutoring Assistance
Volunteer tutors are available in the Resource Center classroom and
computer lab Monday - Friday, 3:30 5:00pm to assist students
individually with homework help; English conversation; reading
practice; filling out forms; preparation for Citizenship; computer.
Students must sign in and out at front desk whenever they use the
computer lab or work with a tutor.|
