Covid-19 - Back to Tennis - Return to restricted play

posted 27 Jun 2020, 07:44 by Hurst Green Tennis Club   [ updated 27 Jun 2020, 08:20 ]

3 June 2020

In accordance with the latest guidance from the LTA, both singles and doubles play is now permitted with people from outside your household, as long as you remain 2 metres apart as far as possible.  This means that 4 people from different households can now play doubles.   Please remember that you should remain 2 metres apart on and off the courts.

Members should continue to behave responsibly in observing the hygiene rules, especially if accessing the clubhouse, which remains closed except in emergencies.

In fairness to others please limit your playing time if others are waiting to play, as a guide 20-30 minutes maximum.

If both courts are in use please remember to wait outside the court area until a court becomes free and allow members to leave before entering.

Please find below our updated risk assessment, hygiene plan and the latest guidance from the LTA.

Please email hurstgreentc@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Annual General Meeting Update

posted 9 Mar 2020, 03:20 by Hurst Green Tennis Club   [ updated 27 Jun 2020, 07:26 ]

The AGM on 26 February was well attended.  Reports were given by the Men’s and Ladies Team Captains, Coaches, Treasurer, Membership and Social Secretaries.  The Club currently has 123 members compromised of 73 adults and 50 juniors, an increase on last year.  This is welcome news for participation in club mix in’s and coaching, and has contributed to keeping the Club’s finances in a healthy position.  Consequently there will be no increase to Membership subscription rates for 2020/21.

Full minutes of the AGM including a list of committee members for 2020, detailed income and payments are published below, via the facebook page and a hard copy displayed in the Clubhouse.

Court renovations

In late Spring work will take place to clean, renovate and repaint the courts along with two new nets, ready for summer play.  Work is expected to take around 5 days and the courts will be unavailable during this time.  Members will be notified of the exact dates in due course.

Hurst Green Village Fair

posted 29 Sept 2019, 14:57 by Hurst Green Tennis Club

On Saturday 21st September the tennis club ran a stall as usual at the Hurst Green Village Fair, selling cakes, home produce, a few plants, used tennis balls for dog owners, and also
running the Wheel of Fortune game.

The weather was perfect and despite the position of the stall not being ideal, an amazing profit of just under £200 was made.

Thanks to everyone who contributed goods or helped on the day, Chris J did a great job on the Wheel of Fortune!

posted 24 Jul 2019, 04:36 by Hurst Green Tennis Club

Thanks to everyone who came to the Open Day on Saturday and welcome to all our new members.
Thanks also to all those members who got baking for us.
Despite a wet start we had a good turnout. There was lots of tennis played, with junior and adult coaching, and all accompanied by tea and cake.
A great day!
