Hello, I am Rick Hunt and welcome to the Hunt for Videos website where you will find pictures, video clips of my travel adventures along with opportunities to buy my travel adventure DVDs as described in each of the countries featured to the left.  The DVDs I sell are generally at a 960 X 540 resolution compared to the video clips here that are reduced to 320 X 240 or even 160 X 120 resolution so they can be viewed with lower broadband systems.

When I retired in 2000, I began my travels starting with Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal, and Thailand with a new video camera---both gifts from my wife, Tani.

In 2002, it was to Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Japan, and Nepal where I trekked the Annapurna Circuit with Room to Read.  Since 2004, I visited Myanmar, India, South Africa, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Singapore, Malaysia, Mexico, Chile, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, and re-visted Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.  Since 2010, we have spent much of our winters in Loreto, BCS, Mexico.

During summers between 2003 and 2008, I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail which goes 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada. Another three week trek was to Lingshed in the Ladakh Region of India in 2008 with Crooked Trails.

Room to Read is one of my favorite charities and is listed under Favorite Links on the left side of this page:  if you decide to donate money to them, tell them "Hoov" sent you.

If you go to the country page shown under the Home tab on the left side of this page or highlighted in red near the bottom of this page, you will see some of my travel pictures along with a short video clip of the travel adventure.  I sell them on eBay for $8 including shipping worldwide under the seller name---huntforgold---when I am home.  You can also buy them directly from me by clicking the Paypal icon shown on each page for $8.

Over time, I will be posting more of my travel pictures and video clips on this site.  In 2012, I traveled to Brazil and Argentina, and did my first travel blog.

In 2013, I did follow on blogs of trips to Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. In the summer, my blog features my PCT trail maintenance work near Deep Lake in WA.

In 2014 my blog features several hikes we did in the Loreto, BCS, MX area followed by my journey beginning in Moscow on the Tran-Siberian Railway system with stops in Lake Baikal, Irkutsk, Mongolia, ending in Beijing.  From there I traveled through China and Vietnam by rail.  A cheap flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok and then on to Taiwan before returning home.  During the winter, I blogged about more hikes in the Loreto area as well as some with my daughter, Jessica, and her son, Atticus, in the Puget Sound area.

In January and February of 2015, I reported on my travels to Thailand and the Philippines.  In June and July, I blogged about my adventures in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru.  In Peru, I again joined up with Crooked Trails, led by Alexis Bonoff, for a trek to Choquequirao, called Cradle of the Gods, by the Incas. Joining me on this tour were Heidi and Gary Holliday, hiking friends from Loreto, MX and new friends, Steven Smith from Lima, Peru, and Malu Alvarez from New York City.  Our local Quechua guide, Juan Carlos along with his three brothers as chef and horsemen with stays at his famiy's place made this adventure even more special.

You may want to see my blog at rtjhunt.blogspot.com  Reading it works best if you start from the earliest posting in each year and go forward.

I also have posted my video clips on youtube, and my site there is titled "huntforgold".
