About us


The Human Biomechanics Research Laboratory is part of the Department for Nutrition, Exercise, and Health Science at Central Washington University. The lab is used for teaching activities as well as research projects. 
Lab-based classes taught with hands-on experiences in the lab are:
      • Basic Biomechanics
      • Sports Biomechanics
      • Clinical Biomechanics

Projects


Our main research interests are related to human movements, joint kinematics, and kinetics. Current projects include:
  • Indoor Rowing: lower limb kinetics in normal weight, overweight, and obese
  • Balance: lower limb asymmetries in young and elderly 
  • Balance: strategies of balance initiation
  • Knee Joint Mechanics
  • ACL Injuries
