Original Hand-Written Lectures by

Hulbert Luther Greiner

Webster City, Iowa

1925

Hulbert Luther Greiner was born in Ohio in March, 1856, and died in Webster City, in Hamilton County, Iowa in 1935. As a child, he lived on a farm near Floris, Iowa, and then resided near Bloomfield Iowa, where he taught in a country school.

After living in Bloomfield, he moved to a farm southwest of Blairsburg, Iowa, where the farm produce included honey from 50 hives, situated in an orchard near the farmstead. After retiring from the farm, Greiner and the 50 hives were moved to an acreage at the west end of James Street in Webster City, Iowa. He believed that the 50 hives had a financial return that was equivalent to an 80 acre farm. While living in Webster City, Greiner wrote the lectures that follow. Greiner was married to Bridget Enright who was born in Wayne County Illinois in 1863, and died in Webster City, Iowa, in 1916. The documents on this web site were saved and preserved by Hulbert’s grandson, Loren Greiner.

This collection of documents is presented in five files. Each file has an introductory statement that is, in essence, the same as the above paragraphs.

The original paper documents were hand-written onto indian head note-paper, and have become a dark brown over the years. The background, interferes with the text in many areas of the pages and causes the writing to be unintelligible.

Note: Because of the way browsers handle .pdf images, the files you open may be fuzzy and completely intelligible at first. However, the images should become sharper as the downloads continue.
