D.8.4) Isochronal Maps

If you ask Google Maps for a route to lots of locations from a single point it is possible to build up an isochronal map of the time to that point.

This one is to Crawley. The effect of the M23 and M25 can be seen - and, yes, if you ask Google for directions from a point in the sea, it tells you to get on a ferry...

This one is to Picadilly Circus in London. The scale goes from blue (0 minutes) to red (60 minutes) via green. The apparently stray blue pixels are, in fact, stations, where the underground/overground is the quickest route. The collection of blue pixels to the west of the map is Heathrow.
