D.8.9) ADS-B

Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS-B) is a system that used automated position reports from aircraft for the purposes of air traffic control. There are many sources of data on the web.

For the wont of anything else to do I decided to write some VBA to show the position of aircraft in real-time.

1) Load data from web stream
2) Parse
3) Display crudely in Excel
4) Generate KML file
5) Repeat 1 - 4 every 10 s

With data received from an area specified as within a 400 mile radius of Gatwick it was necessary to limit the number of aircraft to 200.
