Huchang Liao is currently an Associate Research Fellow with the Business School, Sichuan University, Chengdu. He received the Ph.D. degree in Management Science and Engineering (MSE) from the Antai College of Economic and Management (ACEM) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), under the supervision of Prof. Zeshui Xu, in March, 2015. He was also a joint PhD student from the School of Computer Science (CS) at The University of Manchester (UoM), under the supervision of Dr Xiao-Jun Zeng, in 2014. 

He is now working as an Associate Research Fellow in Business School at Sichuan University since Jun. 2015. From Oct. 2013 to Oct. 2014, he was an Academic Visitor in Manchester Business School (MBS) at The University of Manchester (UoM), mentored by Prof. Dong-Ling Xu and Prof. Jian-Bo YangFrom Jul. 2015 to Dec. 2015, he was an Endeavour Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Technology Sydney, Australia, under the supervision of Prof Jie Lu From Jan. 2017 to Feb. 2017, he was an Invited Visitor at University of Granada, Spain, under the supervision of Prof Francisco Herrera From Feb. 2017 to Feb. 2018, he was an Academic Visitor at the Manchester Business School (MBS)The University of Manchester (UoM)under the supervision of Prof. Jian-Bo Yang and Prof. Dong-Ling Xu. From Oct. 2015 to now, he is an Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Business School at Sichuan University under the supervision of Prof Jiuping Xu.  

Dr. Liao is the Associate Editor of a SCI indexed journal- International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, the Academic Editor of the British Journal of Mathematics & Computer Science, the Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Soft Computing, Mathematics and Control, the International Journal of Systems Science and Applied Mathematics, the Asian Journal of Mathematics and Computer Research, the Recent Patents on Engineering (Indexed by EI), and the Corresponding Guest Editor of the Special Issue in International Journal of Fuzzy Systems on: Hesitant Fuzzy Linguistic Decision Making: Algorithms, Theory and Applications. Research Interests


His current research interests mainly include 
Multiple criteria decision analysis under Uncertainty, Soft Computing; Fuzzy set and fuzzy systems; Computing with words; Intelligent Decision support systems; Healthcare management; Big data driven decision making; Evidential reasoning theory with applications in big data analytics, etc. More specifically, He is interested in Information Fusion, fuzzy set theory (including intuitionistic fuzzy set, hesitant fuzzy set and hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set).

Zeshui Xu received the Ph.D. degree in management science and engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2003. 
From April 2003 to May 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with School of Economics and Management, Southeast University. From October 2005 to December 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He is a Distinguished Young Scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a Distinguished Professor of the Chang Jiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education of China. He is with the Business School, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.     2.    Prof. Xiao-Jun Zeng  (Joint PhD Supervisor at UoM,UKQS ranking:33) 
Xiao-Jun Zeng received the B.Sc. degree in mathematics and the M.Sc. degree in control theory and operation research from Xiamen University, Xiamen, China, and the Ph.D. degree in computation from the University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K. From 1985 to 1992, he was with the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences, Xiamen University, where he was a Lecturer and an Associate Professor. From 1996 to 2002, he was with Knowledge Support Systems (KSS) Ltd., Manchester, where he was a Scientific Developer, Senior Scientific Developer, and Head of Research, developing intelligent decision support systems. He has been with the University of Manchester since 2002, where he is currently a Senior Lecturer with the School of Computer Science. His current research interests include fuzzy systems and control, neural networks, machine learning and data mining, decision support systems and game theory, and health informatics. Dr. Zeng is an Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON FUZZY SYSTEMS and a member of the peer review college of the U.K. Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. He was a recipient of the European Information Society Technologies Award in 1999 and the Microsoft European Retail Application Developer Awards in 2001 and 2003 with KSS Ltd, Manchester, UK.
 
 
    3.    Prof. Dong-Ling Xu (Joint PhD Supervisor at MBS,UK) 
Dong-Ling Xu received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from Hunan University, Changsha, China, in 1983 and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in system control engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1986 and 1988, respectively. She is a Professor in decision and system sciences at the Manchester Business School of The University of Manchester,Manchester, U.K. She has developed several interactive web-based decision support tools and helped to develop a Windows based intelligent decision system. These tools are used in a wide range of assessment activities, such as safety and risk assessment, organizational self assessment in quality management, product evaluation, financial investment policy assessment, and supplier evaluation. Her current research interests are in the areas of multiple attribute decision analysis under uncertainties, decision theory, utility theory, optimization, and their applications in performance assessment for decision making, including supplier selection, policy impact assessment, environmental impact assessment, sustainability management, and consumer preference identification. She has published a book and over 100 papers, many in high-quality international journals including IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON SYSTEMS, MAN AND CYBERNETICS, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis, and Decision Support Systems.
 
 
    4.    Prof. Jian-Bo Yang(Joint PhD Supervisor at MBS,UK)  the Chang Jiang Scholar of the Ministry of Education of China 长江学者

Jian-Bo Yang received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees from North Western Polytechnic University, Xi’an, China, in 1981 and 1984, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in decision sciences and systems engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in 1987. He is a Professor of Decision and System Sciences and the Director of the Decision Sciences Research Center at the Manchester Business School of The University of Manchester, Manchester, U.K. He is also a Specially Appointed Chang Jiang Chair Professor at the School of Management of Hefei University of Technology, Hefei, China. His current applied research is in design decision making, risk modeling and analysis, production planning and scheduling, quality modeling and evaluation, supply chain modeling and supplier assessment, etc. He has published three books, over 320 papers in international journals/book chapters/conferences and developed several software packages in these areas including the Windows-based intelligent decision system via evidential reasoning. He has been awarded over fourteen major research projects by national and international funding bodies with a total value of over £1.2m since 2001. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man and Cybernetics - Part A: Systems and Humans and on the editorial boards of several other international journals. He is a member of the UK EPSRC Peer Review College.

Jie Lu received the Ph.D. degree in information systems from Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia in 2000. She is the Head of the School of Software in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, and the Director of the Decision Systems and e-Service Intelligence Research Laboratory in the Centre for Quantum Computation & Intelligent Systems at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Sydney, Australia. Her main research interests lie in the area of computational intelligence systems, decision support systems, uncertain information processing, recommender systems and e-Government and e-Service intelligence. She has published five research books and 300 papers in refereed journals including IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, DSS and Information Systems, and conference proceedings. She serves as the Editor-In-Chief for Knowledge-Based Systems (Elsevier), Editor-In-Chief for International Journal on Computational Intelligence Systems (Atlantis), and Editor for book series on Intelligent Information Systems (World Scientific) and proceedings series on Computer Engineering and Information Science (World Scientific). Prof. Lu has won five Australian Research Council Discovery Grants, an Australian Learning & Teaching Council grant, and 10 other research and industry linkage grants. She received the first UTS Research Excellent Medal for Teaching and Research Integration in 2010.

Witold Pedrycz (M’88, SM’90, F’99) is a Professor and Canada Research Chair (CRC - Computational Intelligence) in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He is also with the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland. He also holds an appointment of special professorship in the School of Computer Science, University of Nottingham, UK. In 2009 Dr. Pedrycz was elected a foreign member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. His main research directions involve Computational Intelligence, fuzzy modeling and Granular Computing, knowledge discovery and data mining, fuzzy control, pattern recognition, knowledge-based neural networks, relational computing, and Software Engineering. He has published numerous papers in this area. He is also an author of 14 research monographs covering various aspects of Computational Intelligence and Software Engineering. He has been a member of numerous program committees of IEEE conferences in the area of fuzzy sets and neuro computing. Dr. Pedrycz is intensively involved in editorial activities. Francisco Herrera received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in mathematics from University of Granada, Granada, Spain, in 1988 and 1991, respectively. He is a Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Granada. received the B.S. degree in information management and information system from Qufu Normal University, RiZhao, China, in 2006, the M.S. degree in operational research and cybernetics from Qufu Normal University, RiZhao, China, in 2009, and the Ph.D. degree in management science and engineering from Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2012. From April 2012 to April 2014, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher with School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. She is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Economic and Management of The Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing, China. She has published over 40 papers, many in high-quality international journals including  IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON FUZZY SYSTEMS,  Information Sciences, International Journal of Intelligent Systems,  Knowledge-Based Systems, Group Decision and Negotiation,  Technological and Economic Development of Economy, etc. Her current research interests include Behavior Decision making, fuzzy information fusion, aggregation operators and group decision making.

José M. Merigó is a Senior Lecture at the Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester (United Kingdom). He holds a Master and a PhD degree in Business Administration from the University of Barcelona (Spain) and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master in European Business Administration and Business Law from Lund University (Sweden). He has published more than 200 papers in journals, books and conference proceedings, including journals such as Information Sciences, International Journal of Intelligent Systems, Computers & Industrial Engineering, European Journal of Operational Research, Technological and Economic Development of Economy, Insurance: Mathematics and Economics, Applied Mathematical Modelling, Knowledge-Based Systems, Group Decision and Negotiation, Management Decision and International Journal of Fuzzy Systems. He has also published several books including two with World Scientific and three with Springer. He is on the editorial board of several journals and has participated in the scientific committee of several conferences. He also serves as a reviewer in a wide range of international journals. He is currently interested in Aggregation Operators, Decision Making and Uncertainty.

 Yu-Wang is lecturer in Decision Sciences. Prior to his current appointment, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Decision and Cognitive Sciences (DCS) research centre of Manchester Business School, The University of Manchester, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong Baptist University. He received the PhD degree in Control and System Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2008. he has published many papers, many in high-quality international journals including European Journal of Operational Research, Information Sciences, Computers & Operations Research, Expert Systems With Applications, etc. His research interests are mainly in Multiple Criteria Decision Analysis, Modelling and Optimisation of Complex Systems, Risk Analysis in Supply Chains,Operational Research and Self-Organising Computation. He is a member of International Society of Multiple Criteria Decision Making, and the Chinese Automation and Computing Society in UK.
