Exploring London

Thursday 26 November 10-50am  Zoom presentation by John Finn entitled  ' The Industrial Square Mile from the late C18th to the mid C20th'. All members of HU3A are invited to this Zoom on Thursday 26 November.

The group normally meets monthly to visit a place of interest in London. Unfortunately we are no longer able to find free visits every month, but we try to choose places with low entrance charges. The day of the week varies to enable more members to attend.

Our numbers also vary. In 2015-16, the lowest number was 7 when we visited Fenton House in Hampstead to see the garden and collection of antique keyboard instruments. Afterwards we asked where there was a good local cafe and were directed to 18th century Burgh House, which we found not only had delicious lunch snacks but also housed an art gallery and Hampstead local museum, What an unexpected bonus!

The highest number was 27 for the Epping to Ongar Steam Railway trip when the sun shone as we ambled though a cornfield to the Saxon church for our picnic.

Please see the HU3A What'sOn for details of the next outing.
